You Heard It Here: In Memory Of — 16 Comments

    • Hi Pamela,
It’s still sinking in, really. Any time something happened with the dogs, I let her know. Now, I’ll probably pick up the phone before I remember. I keep telling myself she’s watching them now more closely than ever. Thanks for dropping in.

  1. Such a sad story, Dee J. To think she spent her last days living in a vehicle. There’s so much we don’t know about the people we think we know. It makes me happy that you wrote this in memory of her.

    • Hi Robena,
It’s so true. I can’t honestly say that I knew her well, but this still came as a shock. I just wanted her to know – wherever she is – that I’ll miss her. Thanks for stopping in.

    • Hi Christine,
I think Jess and Randi – their previous owner – are definitely watching over them. Thanks for dropping by.

  2. Oh wow Dee, I’m so sorry to hear her sad story. To die alone in a car it makes me sad that she is someone’s mother, grandmother, aunt or sister and yet she died alone.
Your tribute is beautiful and no doubt she is there watching over you and the dogs.
    Hugs!

    • Hi Marie,
She was definitely someone’s daughter, but I’m not sure about any other relatives. I just hope she’s at peace. Thanks for coming by.

  3. It’s sort of eerie and magical how the threads of peoples’ lives get tangled in these random yet significant ways. She brought something important to your lives via the dogs. You helped bring something important to hers. Instead of “woman living in car, dies alone,” we know she had neighbors, she cared about animals, she gave of herself.

    • Hi Sam,
She definitely gave of herself. She cared for a lot of animals and interacted with many clients. I’m sure everyone will miss her terribly… and most especially all the animals in her life. Thanks for the sweet words.

  4. Aww, anyone who loves animals like that is a special person. Too bad she didn’t have anyone in her own life who could take care of her as well as she took care of the animals.

    • Hi Carol,
I know exactly what you mean. I had no idea she was so alone. It killed me to find this out. She never talked to me about anything other than all the animals she took care of. And she was special. She worked so hard to find these dogs a good home. Still trying to digest it all…
