You Heard It Here: Hollywood Premiere — 12 Comments

  1. Congratulations! I look forward to it. I’m behind on current TV, thanks to kidlets. But we do have Nick in Canada so I’ll be seeking it out.

Lately I’ve revisited Arrested Development which I just love. My other favourite show (with ups and downs near the ending as shark jumping ensued) was House MD. Characters. Writing. I love colourful characters and witty dialogue.

I haven’t seen “reality” TV since many years ago when I had a lung infection and watched The Osbournes on DVD. As part of my background’s in film, I am not persuaded on the “reality” part of TV when clearly there are three cameras involved and harsh lights which clearly belie the realism factor. Impossible cross-cutting and match on action or dialogue are giveaways which offend me all the more. Or amuse me, if I’m sippy rum toddies.

    • Hi Sophie,
Haha. I like the sippy rum toddies. That is probably the only way you get me to watch reality TV. It is a product of editing, that is for sure.

I agree with great characters and writing. A good show starts on paper. Let me know what the kidlets think of Marvin Marvin. Our second episode is tonight.
      🙂
      Thanks for stopping in!

  2. I can’t tell you my favorite show of all time because there are too many great ones. I can tell you what I currently like, though: Call the Midwife, Emily Owens, M.D., and The Walking Dead. That’s basically what I’m watching this season.
Best wishes with your new show, and I’ll go hunt up some kids and tell them what to do at 8:30 tonight. 🙂

    • Hi Lynne,
I’ve wanted to catch Emily Owens, M.D. but haven’t managed. Grr.. Look at your eclectic tastes! LOL. Love it! Thanks for scrounging the kids and being my street team! Always love when you drop in! 🙂

  3. I can’t pick just one, either! I’ve always been a big TV watcher. I have so many favorites right now… Hart of Dixie, Castle, The Vampire Diaries, Dexter, Revenge, Once Upon A Time, The Big Bang Theory. I better stop there or you’ll think all I do is watch TV! LOL

    • Hi Robin,
Ha! I used to watch a ton of TV too, but I gave it up because it became my writing time. Now I’m woefully outdated as far favs go. I do love Dexter! And Big Bang is a great show. (I actually worked on the first season. What an amazing cast!) I’ve heard great things about your whole list, actually, I just haven’t watched them! Thanks for dropping in!

  4. I used to love Moonlighting and Murphy Brown. Guess I like snarky women. : )
These days it’s Big Bang Theory and Go On, although in recent weeks I thought they’d both started getting a bit silly. I don’t like silly. Or slapstick. Yeah, I know , I have a weird sense of humor.
    Congrats on the show.

    • Hi Robena,
Thanks! We found out the network is very happy with our ratings so we’re feeling good. I see Big Bang is a big hit. Not surprising…it’s very well done. I’m not a fan of slapstick either so you are not alone! Oh, and I LOVED Moonlighting! A very sassy show. Thanks for stopping by!

  5. I was a huge Lost devotee. Okay, I was a huge Matthew Fox devotee, and that show was my weekly fix! Now I do loves me some Hart of Dixie and, of course, Modern Family. But Huddy and I will check out Marvin Marvin tonight on Nick … unless he’s asleep by 8:30 (har, har … I crack myself up)!

    • Hi Sam,
Ha! You’re funny. Tonight’s episode is a cute. Any of our episodes dealing with animals have been my favorite. You have a great list too! I never did watch Lost, but I did ogle Mathew Fox on occasion. LOL. Thanks for coming by!
