Danger Zone Freebies Day 2!
Four more chances to win Danger Zone! Who wants to win?
Do you think reading romance has helped you in your own relationships in any way? Are you more aware of how fleeting love can be?
Congratulations to Monday’s winner… Julie!
Just started reading ‘Dangerous Race’ as a break from all those science papers (*shudder*) and my rescue SCUBA diving training manual and absolutely love it! My poor little mostly-broke graduate student self would love book #2 as well 😛
There’s always some controversy over whether reading romance creates unrealistic expectations about relationships, but I think that’s a load of bollocks. I’m pretty sure most of us recognise that romantic relationships in romance novels are idealised… in the same way that, for example, reading a sci-fi / futuristic novel doesn’t result in me believing we’ll all teleporting to & fro in a couple of years. But I do find those idealised relationships (romantic or otherwise) in romance to be uplifting & inspiring, which in turn makes me look at my own relationships (again, romantic or otherwise) more positively. So more power to the HEAs! 🙂

Hi Cris!
Welcome back! So glad you’re enjoying Dangerous Race! Yes, that “controversy” has always amazed me. Fiction is fiction no matter what form it takes, be it in movies or books. I’d like to think most people realize the difference. But I do love my HEAs and I’ll always write them for my h/h. Life is too short to spend time with unhappy endings.
